Hello everyone, I'm hoping to get some help on a couple of issues I'm having with my '95 Johnson Fast Strike. First issue is that it's leaking fuel from the weep holes located on the side of the bowl of the carburetor. I seen an older post with somebody having the same problem. It seems that this is common with these motors and the fix was to clean the weep hole (looks like it has a bb inside of it) and seal it with epoxy. Is this the fix to this problem? Next issue, having problems with the vacuum switch alarm. I've checked all of the fuel lines, primer bulb and anti-siphoning valve which my tank doesn't have.I could not find any fuel flow restrictions. The motor runs with plenty of power with no problems. I have noticed that when the motor is first started on a cool morning the alarm instantly comes on but after the motor warms up it stops. Thanks in advance with any ideas that may help.

If it leaking /weeping around the BB in bowl ...clean really good, a slight tap to reseat it and coat with fingernail polish of what ever color you prefer.....I lean toward 'Goth Black" myself....:D:D

I had a similar problem on a 2001 johnson 90hp OceanPro. There was a hole on each carburetor that had a "BB" filling it, and these would eventually leak. My mechanic (who was well-versed on these engines because he worked only on Johnson/Evinrudes, 2 cycle only and only 40hp or greater) said these will always eventually leak fuel. So he cleaned/degreased thoroughly and sealed (with epoxy, as i recall). He thought the holes were needed during manufacturing. I have since sold the boat/motor but as i recall his repair lasted at least a couple years. Still it was something i kept my eye on...not good to have fuel leaking around a hot engine when you're 10 or 15 miles offshore...

I don't not suggest any epoxy as feul will eventually break it down..Fuel will not effect nail polish or Seal All sealer in tube. I was using SealAll but the polish is cheaper and don't dry out.

Thanks very much, I’ll try the nail polish ... goth black works for me! I fail to mention that this is a 150 Fast Strike. Thanks again for the help. One more issue to fix, does anyone have any ideas on the vacuum switch alarm? It started this last summer, could it be the switch? It runs really well with no problems.
