I have a 1995 Starcraft with 60 HP Mariner OB. The Quicksilver 3000 Classic Shifter button has stuck in the "pushed in" position and the electrical interlock for starting the engine will not allow cranking. The shifter moves to all postions. I cannot figure out how to remove the shifter arm in order to unbolt the shifter bracket from the mount. Can anyone tell me how the shifter arm is removed so that the shifter can be removed from the rail of the boat in order to repair it?
Thank you,
Charles L. Rogers

I just checked the installation instructions.
They say, "Push throttle only button in. Push throttle forward. The throttle only button can now be removed."

It just pushes on, and should pull off if the throttle is moved forward.

Then remove the 11/16" hex head bolt that holds the handle on.

Many thanks, the button pulled out after prying it gently and the arm is removed. I haven't had time to finish the repair but will get back to you when I can make the time. I am also interested in any repair/maintainence manuals available for this Starcraft and the Mariner 60 HP motor that are ecomonically practical to buy. The commonly available manuals like Clymer's etc. are available in the local library, but appear generic with little specific imformation. I have not reviewed the Mercury Marine website recently, but previous reviews of it did not seem to be helpful in obtaining manuals.
Thanks again, more later
Charles L. Rogers
