1995 Merc 115 no reverse

After reading some of the posts I have come to the conculsion that the reverse clutch dog gear is rounded.Checked all the linkage which is ok.Goes into foward no problem.Anyone have any info on how to get to and repair this.Thanks for the help

Welcome!<br /><br />You're gonna need the manual, and some special tools to take a lower apart - that simple.<br /><br />If squeemish, you can at least learn how to drop the lower unit and do the water-pump. Then you can hand carry the lower to a shop.<br /><br />-W

Thanks for the reply. I did change the water pump about a year and a half ago.I am familiar with droping the lower end. The manual I have doesn't give a good detail on how or what is intailed. I don't have any special tools other than sockets,wrenches,and a big hammer.Thanks for the info.

Hint - take it to a place that can get parts from Pro-Marine, Sierra, NAPA, etc... <br /><br />Brunswick GOUGES the gear parts.<br /><br />-W
