1995 Mercury 115 1115412RD - Overcharging at Higher RPM's

My 1995 Mercury 115hp two-stroke Model 1115412RD seems to be overcharging at speed but not at low RPM. My Garmin 547XS Chartplotter/FF shows 17+ voltage and I have a VHF radio that sounds a high voltage alarm. What is the likely cause for the issue and what needs to be done to fix it?

Replace the voltage regulator.

If you don't know what or where, look at the wires coming out from under the flywheel. Look for 2 yellow wires and follow to a black epoxy/alum case module that also has one or more red leads, a black, and grey (tach drive) attached. That would be your rectifier/regulator module. Probably can go to the top of this page and look under parts and buy one right here.
