I have a 1995 mercury 115 I took the boat out today and it ran great. After about 2hrs an alarm started going off It would go off when I increased the speed and then stop once I slowed down. We stopped the boat and after about an hour I tried to start it back and it would not start the engine would turn over but the motor would not start. The oil looked a little low but only about 1/4 inch below the line is this the reason the alarm was going off and did this cause the boat not to start back? someone said it could be the VSO pump? Please help

Re: 1995 mercury 115 alarm

I have a 2003 Mercury 115 four stroke with fuel injection. This is my second year running the engine. First year, no problems. This year, first time out at speed (4,000- 5,000 RPMs) an alarm goes off (beeeeeeeeeeeeep) and stays on until I drop to idle.

I take it in to the dealer. 1st visit – blame stuck thermostat, 2nd visit – replace thermostat and water pump and it is still doing it. Beeeeeeeeeeeeep. The dealer is trying, but I don’t think he has a clue.

Help!

BTW - This boat was completely set up by the dealer, per factory specs (I guess). It is a Sea Pro SV1900CC.

It was the beep beep beep not the constant beeping I spoke with a dealer today and he said the boat was equiped with a safety feature that would not allow the motor to restart until the oil level is bought back up is this true?

I did what the dealer said and the boat started on the first try, However I turned the boat off and tried to crank it again and it would not start the motor is turning but not firing what is wrong? Is there a sensor going bad or what? confused..
