1995 omc cobra 5.0 outdrive reinstall

Hi,
I have a 1995 Four Winns with a omc cobra 5.0 engine.I took the outdrive off last fall and noticed there was no gasket or sealant there. There was no water in the bellows and everything looks good. My question is there supposed to be a gasket or sealant there or is it supposed to be metal to metal fit. The schematic shows no gasket there . Any help would be appreciated. 1st year with boat

Being a 95, the question is, is it the standard Cobra with a dog clutch or the SX Cobra. Big difference, and it could be either.
