I've taken this boat out a few times on short runs of a few miles and had no engine problems. Today I went out on about a 20 mile trip. We stopped in a channel to fish and when I went to switch my batteries I noticed a very faint smoke that I contributed to a tiny livewell link onto the hot engine. We started fishing and before I realized it we were pushed on a sandbar and spent about an hour moving the boat off. Once I got off the boat wouldn't start.
I finger banged it for a while and initially realized that the wires on my kill switch were loose and had engaged the shut off. After fixing that and getting SOME power back to the boat it still refused to start.
I looked at some other posts and did a small amount of troubleshooting. I can hear the full pump priming and then when i turn the key a relay on the front of the motor clicks. One of the posts I read compared this relay to the starter selenoid and suggested jumping 30 to 87 to try and get the boat to start. I did that and nothing changed. The troubleshooting post went on to suggest voltage checks on the starter etc. My problem is I don't know what is wrong, and I don't know where the starter is.
The boat has fuel and power. It simply refuses to crank and I can't find certain parts to continue troubleshooting.
