Hi I've just purchased '95 Regal Rush which has a Mercury 90 HP sport jet engine. It was purchased from a friend about 2 weeks ago. When we bought it, it had been sitting in the in the garage all winter. When we tried to start it, it would turn over but it just wouldn't start. Finally we decided to try jump start it using an eliminator from Candian Tire and it finally worked.<br /><br />fast foward 2 weeks...<br /><br />It woulnd't start again. This time we tried a whole new battery and it still wouldn't work. One of our friends knows a little about motors. He tried to cross the celenoid (I know nothing about motors) and he didn't get a spark (which he said should have happened). <br /><br />At this point, when we would turn the ignition, there was only a click. We bought new spark plugs and that didnt help either. We took a hammer and hit the starter while turning the key and now it turned over a little but still wasn't coming close to starting. <br /><br />What are some of the possible causes for this. Everyone is saying the starter but I just want to make sure I have all my bases covered.<br /><br />Thanks a head of time,<br /><br />Josh Boudreau
