I am considering buying a 1995 Sea Doo jet boat that is powered with twin 85 hp Rotax motors. What should I be concerned with regarding these motors. Are they expensive to work on? What troubles are they prone to experience? Thank you for any helpful information.

Well, there's one in every crowd, so I'm gunna be it! You need to know that these "jet powered fun boats" depreciate in value very quickly. Why?? Because they get run HARD!! With twins, you have the potential for twice the problems, double the fuel use, less room to service them (one engine just wasn't enough power to push bigger hulls, so they solved that by.... installing two!!) Now, SeaDoo is buying engines from Mercury as those are real brutes!! But, as a general rule, I would say that these are "fair weather" boats. Good for sitting still or running hard!! ALWAYS, test run prior to buying!!! Also, check the Blue Book value to see what you are getting!!
