We cannot figure out how to lay down the back to back seats. On the one side of the seat is a small plastic handle with a bolt attached. Do you have to remove that bolt to have the seats lay down? On the driver side seat that bolt has been broke off. How do I get into the bottom of the seat to repair the broken bolt? How do they slide on the rails I can see?

They do not open like standard seats. It looks like they have drawer type glides. One has this t handle with a bolt attached that you can unscrew. I did not unscrew it as I do not own the boat yet. The other side this bolt has been broke off. How does the seat lay down. What do I do about the broken bolt.

Some boats you just lift the edge of the seat part sticking out aft and pull. If it has feet just fold them down. Not familiar with Sea Ray, just seats in general......go below to the restoration section and get into SR. Maybe somebody has discussed it or has pictures.

Why don't you pose the question to Sea Ray? Now-a-days manufacturer PR is pretty good and personal questions usually get answered......too much competition not to!

Since you don't own it yet, why not just ask the owner how they work?

The owner has no idea how to operate them. They bought the boat new and NEVER put the seats down. They just showed me the broken bolt from the one seat. I played around with the other seat for a few minutes but did not want to mess something up. We have a deposit on the boat. The sale is pending an inspection which will happen Friday. My kids want to camp in the boat and it would be handy to have the seats lay down. That is why I am asking the forum.

I will ask the question on the Sea Ray Forum. Thank you.

Mine are older, but they have a slightly different carriage than anything I've ever seen before: they have "arms" kind of like a glider rocker, and you lift the seat up and pull out. I've made it sound clunkier than it really is, as it really works rather nicely.

They should be the same as the bayliner seats of the same era. Lift the front and pull seat towards you from either side. The "tracks" were wood in the old one we had and may not allow the bar to slide if they have been wet and swelled.
