1995 Sunbird 4.3 Lt. OMC Cobra

Engine starts and runs fine at idle, but as I throttle up boat will not plane and engine bogs down. I have changed plugs and fuel filter and looking for further assistance as this did not help. Boat ran fine at end of last season, but has not run well since putting in water this year.

Ayuh,... A compression, 'n leak-down test will tell ya the general condition of the motor...
And,...
I'm Guessin' a Carb Rebuild might fix the runability issue..

I had similar issues with mine last year. Boat shop diagnosed a clogged carb as my problem and cleaned the dickens out of it. First outing it was idling better than ever but DIED every time we tried to take off. Good thing I had some guys with me that knew a little about engines. The boat mechanics had put the fuel filter in backwards!!!! Has run like a dream ever since with a clean carb and properly installed fuel filter 89 corsica 4.3 v6
