hey all im a new member i was hoping someone who reads this forum would be able to give me some good advice.
Since i bought my 130 i have had a problem with the alarm going off when ever i go over 3000rpm for any period of time. I have replaced the impeller, water pump and had a general service. After all this i would run my engine until the alarm would go off, i quickly took the cover off and checked to make sure the blocks werent "overly" hot. They werent... so i disconnected the alarm cables thinking maybe it was a bad sensor. I didn't have any other problems for a few months. Yesterday i was running my boat for about 15 min at about 3200rpm and the engine started to shudder and turned itself off, i was scared it had seized. After a few minutes i stated it again and i idled back to the dock. I am so irritated with this problem and ive been dealing with for as long as ive owned my mako, if anyone has some good solutions to this problem please respond to this post. I know the ultimate would be to tear apart the block and clean everything but i cant really afford the $1000 my mechanic quoted me. INFO WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
