question please. when i move the throttle into gear F and R it goes clunk the cables are coiled at the back near the transom in a big O sorta shape new cables installed 2 years back smooth controls for power. could the engine cable end need adjustment at all ? if so where? and how do i do it my self thanks :)

Sounds like the wrong size cables installed but that wouldn't cause a clunk. What is your idle speed with the motor in the water and in gear?

1 thou revs at idle or 10 on the faria gauge any lower revs and it dies at idle
spark plugs are oiled but only at the based of the screw not the contacts. they are clean as no sign of any damage's etc

Do a link & sync exactly as your manual says and get that idle down to where it should be. In the water and in gear it should be idling at 625-725 RPMs.

Hi thanks for the reply had a mech look at it yesterday and he says that the idle is where it should be and that it's all good for now. the cables say 17ft do they have to be coiled at the back of the engine bay?
