1996 120 Force fuel problen

I have a 1996 Force 2 stroke, the motor runs great at any speed above 1000 rpm?s and for a long time. My problem is when I am fishing and trolling under 1000 rpm?s for 10 to 20 minutes it runs out of fuel and then I pump the bulb back up and I can continue for about the same amount of time then it happens again.. I have given some thought to putting in a fuel pump diaphragm kit, but would like some thoughts on that first. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks

Do the fuel pump kit
It's cheap & may solve your problem. its general maintenance
you can also clean the filter while your in there

I'm having similar issues with my 1998 75 hp Force. I rebuilt the fuel pump ($11 and 25 Min) and seemed to improve but it did not fix. Two things I'm moving on now is a carb rebuild and compression test. I should have the kit by Thursday and will follow up with you. I believe compression creates the pressure along with the pump. At the moment I haven't gone after any electrical except plugs. That made no improvement. Please post if you solve.

Thank all of you for your quick response on this matter. I have just completed the ordering of the Fuel pump Kit-Sierra # 18-7917 from This website ?Iboats.com? and the price of their parts is great and the Forms pages are very nice. This is my first time here today and I am very impressed with this site. I will respond after I get the pump kit installed, and Thanks again.

i had the same problem come to find out my bulb wouldn't hold a prime had tear in it replaced it for 5.00 walmart happy camper

I have replaced the pump kit and bulb and glad to say I took it out and was trolling for 3.5 hours and it worked very well. Thanks to all, and I hope this post will help others that might have this same problem.
