1996 4.3 lx choke

Carburetor choke, while running on water choke won't open all the way, intake is working to cold for spring to stay expand or contracted.
185 thermostat eng running at 185 to 200 with a mechanical gauge ,Murphy ,at dash.
Any idea's? Thought about putting a electric kit Like 470 had.

Ayuh,.... The choke stove chokes are adjustable by bendin' the little crooked wire arm,.....

Why are ya runnin' so Hot,..?? Why such a Hot t-stat,..??

Yah I tried bending wire.It will warm up enough to open all the way on water hose but not from the cold bayou water.
the temps may not be that high sorry wasn't thing right, more like 175 to 185.u can tell because when motor gets to 185 thermostat will open then drop to 175 while running at 3500 rpms.
I put a 185? thermostat because of cold bayou water, it was only running at 130? and need to get moly rings to seat on new rebuild.
I'll probably go back with the 165? thermostat for summertime.

Ayuh,.... If you've got the Merc/ Weber carb, an electric choke kit from, Edlebrock is part # 1478,...
