1996 5.7 gl won't start for me?

Volvo penta 5.7 gl 96 chaparral 25 96,,
Engine won't strat, drain batt super fast, start with problem,, today I cleaned the carburetor, change sparkplug, cables, has spark, but still have problem, when it did star finally, the engine took longer then usual and was like the battery problem, but know it won't start nothing any help this is my first Boat thanks to all
