Damn. I've got a problem with my reverse now...
1. The reverse has been 'grinding' a bit for a long time. Nothing too dramatic, but you can hear it when it goes in. A second and a half period of minor grindage
2. Last night wanted to go out for a spin, the boat wouldn't go into reverse. No noise, just acted like you didn't engage reverse
3. Tried asjusting the adjuster to the max, nothing doing.
4. Disconnected the linkage, tried to manually force it into reverse with the motor running, nearly broke my thumb (bounced a bunch and it smarted)
5. Shut off the motor, put it into reverse and started the motor, reverse was engaged
Can someone lead me down a path? I'm afraid I've worn out the gear that kicks it in, how can I tell? I do have a manual, just haven't dug it out yet.
help!
