Trying to locate the TDC Marking on the flywheel. Bit confused because there are two scales on the flywheel and they both have a 4-T-4. The second scale has the T marking painted white. Is that the TDC Marking? Also, in the photos you can see an indention type thing after the second scale on the flywheel; what is that?

Have to ask.------The timing on these motors does not go out of adjustment for the life of the motor.-----So why the question ?-----What is your motor doing / not doing.------A sheared flywheel key does change the timing.

Start with a compression test.---Post your numbers.-----Unless someone has " fooled " with the timing it will be correct.

It was in the shop not that long ago and they put a new fuel pump in it. They tested compression at that time and said it was fine. That video is a multi step process to tune linkages and idle screw etc. The first step is to make sure the timing pointer is accurate. I'm not the first owner of this boat, so I have no idea what's been done to it in the past or if the timing has been fooled with. I'm just trying to start at step 1.

Keep at it. Put your top cylinder to Top Dead Centre and then check where your flywheel is at on the markings
