Hi everyone I'm new to the forum..I just bought a 1996 bayliner jazz for $1,200 and had to do a little maintenance to get her going. I replaced the carburetor gaskets on the gas bowls. New battery, New gas filter, new spark plugs. And now she runs, need to tweak the carbs a little as she does not idle to good. Anyway my question is I had it run for a min or so and now i have some oil leaking out on the bottom near the intake grate/ ride plate..I'm posting a picture of the area...Is this bad?? any help would be great..There is no oil in the engine area just the area in the picture.....

Re: 1996 BAYLINER JAZZ..Help

I own a Jazz myself. I know what a hassle they can be. What motor do you have? You said it's a 96 so I assume a 120?

Mine is a 90. My first question is what the hell happened to the hull on that thing? Ride plate must be sealed real well for these things to work and run right.

Anyway let me know what engine. I might have some stuff that can help you pin point and fix the problem.

Is it leaking gear oil or 2 stroke unburnt gas/oil mix?

You were running water through to carry away unspent fuel while attemoting to start on trailer?....if not best you read the SJ posts.

I'll pm you link to dl a shop manual.
