1996 evinrude breakdown

I have a 1996 35 hp Evinrude Model E35Kmledg which will run fine for a few minutes. It will breakdown and not run on all cylinders. I have changed the power pack and the stator. Cleaned the filters on the fuel pumps and Plugs. This engine was overheated but rebuilt. It was running fine early this summer and sat for a month. I am at a loss as to what is going on. If you have some ideas where to go from here I would be gratfull to hear from you. Thank You for your time.

You need a shop manual to determine what's wrong or you can keep throwing [expensive] parts at the motor until it's fixed.

The key is to do some troubleshooting before you go to the parts store. You need to find out if it is getting the fuel it needs and the spark to fire it. Get the shop manual as WildeOne suggests and have at it.<br /><br />To get better input here you need to give us more information about the problem. "It will breakdown and not run on all cylinders" does not tell us much. Also give us some history about the engine so we have some clue on what is going on. For example you may get different input if you tell us that the engine has sat outside without running for five years than if you tell us that it has been running fine all summer.
