Re: 1996 impeller replacement question

First off should water come out of the three square hole half way up the motor in the rear.It use to but not know.I removed the LU and looked at it last night just to check the installation of the new impeller looks good reinstalled.I have water coming out the pee hole and the center of the prop. which I should at start up right?I also have water coming out were the shifter shaft is on the LU is that correct. And last but not least I don't have anything coming out of the three holes mid way down the rear of the motor and I did before.any help would be great don't want to hurt the motor. Its seems to have been fine but started pumping less water out the pee hole so I changed out the impeller and want to check it now before hitting the water

did you silicone the plate between the exhaust and the pump housing? When the boat is in the water, is your engine trimmed enough so it's not cavitating? Do you have a pressure gauge?

I did not put any silicone on thew bottom of the plate just on the two sides abot 1 in. long could that be why its coming out around the shifter shaft on the LU.No on the pressure gauge. Not sure of what your asking on the trim question its on the trialer right now.
Thanks

Did you make sure you installed the pick-up tube correctly?

I pulled it back off to make sure I put it on the LU then put back together so I'm thinking it should be okay.

What engine is this? Do you have an exhaust boot inside the LU.

The dealer told to replace the shifter shaft seal that should not have water coming out there/If anything it would be oil right?
