i have a johnson 150hp ocean runner, while running it the other day i got several oil warning alarms, only at full throttle, the oil tank is new, and there is some oil splattered around the motor compartment. while running to flush out the salt water it seemed to produce i nice blue exhaust. where should i look for problem?

Was the alarm continuous or 1 second beeps? Continuous is the oil sender every one second is the no oil sensor in the OMS pump itself. If it is intermittent I would check all wiring connections to make sure they are tight.

Not true.

A 1996 motor should have the System Check warning system with the 4 lights. It will give off a 10 second warning horn and the appropriate LED will come on and indicate TEMP, LOW OIL, NO OIL. or CHECK ENGINE.

If it's a 1995 or earlier model a continuous tone at high speed is a fuel restriciton or an overheat, but an overheat will slow the motor down to 2500 rpm automatically.

the motor is a repower, the remote control is from the 1987 johnson i had, so it doesn't have the lights. the beeps are short pulses, with no real pattern, what generates the signal for the no oil alarm?

The VRO/OMS pump there is a sensor in there that monitors for no oil.
