I have Evinrude 1995 175hp oceanpro and mechanic very rarely sees them in for repair. Small block 60° loopers are well proven. Check spark, compression, lower unit oil, and overall condition/maintenance. Then enjoy!

Personally, I would avoid late 90's v-6 ficht motors from what I've heard and read. New models (post 2001) seem to be much better. All opinions are second hand knowledge based.
