fuel restriction is my guess, did you happen to see the primer bulb when the horn was sounding?

cf is correct, the intermittent alarm is fuel/oil issue..you need to check fuel/oil lines and fuel/vro pump. I would not run until i got it fixed, could ruin your motor.

Sounds like a fuel restriction. If you have System Check do you get any warning lites??

Hot alarm will trigger SLOW, sounds like a fuel restriction.

More likely in the boat's plumbing, the anti-siphon valve, pickup tube or screen, kinked line, selector switch, plugged filter, delaminating fuel lines, etc.

If this is a auto-oil, I would premix my gas at 50:1 until it's solved. If the oiler is working, then it'll smoke a little and be a lil oil rich, but if you're having an overall lean issue from low fuel pressure for some reason, it'll add some extra lubrication. One of the worst things you can do to a 2-stroke is a lean condition.

I am having the same issue. Small buzz every once and a while. I had a little lower than normal oil level but have not had a chance to check to see if that was it. The reason i am leaning towards the oil level is because it only started buzzing in rough seas and stopped once in calm bayou water. Thinking that the oil was sloshing. SO that being said, i would agree with the others that it is in deed a oil/fuel issue.

Where is the oil filter located? Under the engine hood before the VRO pump?
