Hi there guys. Im new to this forum stuff and my outboard has forced me to start doing it.Haha. I'll try and give all the facts that I can think of to help with figuring out my problem(problems). So here it goes. I bought a 1996 15hp outboard from my buddy. It never ran for 3-4 years since it was stollen and by some weird way made it back to him.He needed money so I bought it from him for 400 bones. Im not that machanicaly inclined but I did the things I could think of.The only problem I had was getting it to pump water so I replaced that and no problems overheating.I have had the motor now for going on 3 years and the only problem I have had with it has been starting it after it gets hot.I can run up and down the river all day long as I dont shut it off or let it stall when I come to an idle. The problems have been there since day 1. Hard starting when hot and after warming up and going for a rip up and down the river if Im not carful coming down to an idle it will stall. If Im lucky and with toes crossed I can get it fired up after a few minutes but on more then 1 trips ,Ive rowed home to my docks.Good exercise but way to long of a row sometimes (2hrs).I just got it back from a shop and they did some carb adjustments and said it ran fine in the test tank. 80 bucks later and Im not sure If I belive them. The only way I can work around the problem is to leave it sit for an hour or so and seems to start with out to much problem. Some one said it might be a coil or power pack but doesnt seem to be breaking down when running around wot.Im at the end of my rope with it.Any help would be realy!!! realy!!! realy!!! great.
Thxs. I know for sure I missed some details so ask away any other questions that you need to know.
