1996 Mariner 40hp 4cyl. thermostat.

Hello, I'm new to Merc/Mariner forum. I used to own a Johnson but found a good deal on a Mariner. Does the 4 cyl. 40hp have a thermostat? I have the manual and can't find a reference to any thermostat. Thanks in advance for any help. Kyle
