I picked up a 14' aluminum boat the other day which has a Mariner 9.9 four stroke motor, its in perfect running condition but I'm looking for some info about these motors. I ordered a factory shop manual just to have on hand but its a week away. I want to change out the water pump impeller just to be safe.
The serial number is 0H005000.
Is this a Yamaha power head? Or something else? I've got a newer (2003) Mercury that I know is Tohatsu, but this is heavier and a seems to have a lot more torque.
It was bought from a company who used it for EPA cleanup jobs, so its got very little use but lots of time in a truck bed or in shipment. The first thing I noticed is that the prop on this is almost 2" larger than the prop on my 2003 Mercury.
When I look up the serial number it says this is a "Bondensee" motor? What is Bondensee?

The number I get is the same as most other Merc/Mariners from that time,42038Q02 for the impeller.

Is this an import motor or a mix of both US and import components?
What sort of reputation did they have? This one seems to start and run real well. Its stronger than my 2003 on the same boat but about 20 lbs or so heavier. On the hook my scale reads it at 105.4lbs total
