What would cause my ignition module to overheat and short out?? I just replaced one and put the old one back on cuz the new one would not let me put the engine in base timing mode. The engine would just kill. I put the old one in and the engine would stay running but no base timing mode so I'm getting another one and see what happens.
The reason I replaced the ignition module was because the old one would overheat in the water and shut the engine down leaving me stranded until it cooled down then I could move again. The new one did the same thing. Could it be something in the ignition shorting out causing the module to fry out?? I did have a fuse blowing at the starting key, bypassed it cuz I had no fuses. Did I open a can of worms??
