I am restoring a Spirit 170 and trying to find access to the fuel tank. It looks like the fuel line runs under the floor but I do not see any access to it. I would like to ultimately replace the tank but need to access it first. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure about your particular model, but I'm guessing you'll have to cut out the floor to remove/replace the tank. Only the fittings are required to be accessible.

It looks that way. I could not find an access panel anywhere. I at least wanted to replace the float since my fuel gauge no longer works but looks like it won't be worth cutting the floor up.

1997 Sunbird Spirit 170 Volvo Penta 3.0 GS - I know this is an old thread, but I couldn't find this info anywhere so my daughter and I started removing floor panels. Tank access is right in front of the engine - the panel was held in by 4 screws at the corners.
