1996 tohatsu 90 2 stroke oil pump??

the engine will get on step for about 100yds. then lay down real fast and kill the engine.
when i restart i can not get back on step. if i shut it down then tilt all the way up and back down, it will start and run on step for another 100yds are so.
I checked the fuel filters and pump, all seams good there. i dumped out the oil filter and put it back on then started the engine again and let it idle. I noticed that the oil filter never filled back up??
I shut it down and unscrwed the oil filter again and it filled it self up quickly?

does this meen the oil pump is out or am i missing something??

You probably forgot to purge the oil system after you cleaned out the filter. Details are in the Factory service manual.

It doesn't sound like a problem at all; sounds like you got it working.

what got me worried is all that was going on before I messed with the oil filter and the oil filter was clean??

Understood. At this point, I would diagnose the fuel and ignition systems, with the aid of the Factory service manual.

Ok it's not the oil pump.I'm thinking ignition system.
(cause Paul said so) what do I do now?

Well the mystery is over
#2 cylinder has a compression of 50!
The cal wall is scored up really bad.
I'm now looking at other motors!!
