1996 VP 4.3 GS... Which manual is best?

Just picked up a 1996 Chris craft with same year 4.3 GS PNCA and SX outdrive. I'm new to these motors and am trying to read up n learn all I can to be able to do the basic maintenance stuff on my own. My last setup was an 85hp force (totally different beast of course). Any recommendations on a repair/shop manual for things like removing/installing outdrive, fluid changes, winterizing, etc etc.

Boatinfo - boat brochures and manuals for boats and marine engines!

Look up OMC 1986-1998 manual...it's has all the info you need. I down loaded all the pages in .pdf form by printing and "saving-as" a .pdf. If you have a Mac it's that easy, if you have a Microsoft based system, you'll need a .pdf maker like adobe .pdf maker.

Pay attention and browse the sticky posts in this forum. While the poster above posted a good link (which is in the sticky posts) there is ton's more information that was compiled to make life easier.

Do a search for an "NC" service manual. Might be able to find one on Ebay. I have a complete "LK" in PDF format which is one model newer which may help you for most things.

The factoy stuff is usually the best.
The aftermarket:Clymer,Seloc and the like have good points and bad.
The library can help with some books.
