Hi, I just purchased a 1996 wave raider 1100. It only has 50% of it's power and it dies on more than 30 seconds of idling.
PO said the oil pump has been disconnected whitch I'm not 100% sure, and it has been running on premix. He said he made a mistake and put 30:1, There was ~2.5gal left of wrong mixed fuel in the tank. I putted 6 gal of premixed 40:1 went to try it and the ski was very slow + stalling on idle. the carbs are rebuilt, compression test 115 on all 3 cyl. Today I found that 1 of the plugs was a b8hs with a bigger gap, the 2 other were br8hs. Could it be the problem ?

Br8HS are the correct plugs, but the B8HS isn't causing idle issues. Now the plugs may be fouled, so fresh plugs may be in order.

115psi all cylinders is very good. 30:1 will foul plugs in a hurry. If you had a (high compression) head and 145psi, it would fire buffalo urine. Adding 40:1 is still too rich.

With good oil - 50:1 is fine. If you intend to run full throttle in excess of 5 minutes, then 40:1 would be my suggestion.

Those carbs are easy to adjust and the low speed mixture might need to be tweeked a bit leaner (turn clockwise in). Do NOT touch the high's at this point.

I gave one full turn for each low jet screw ,I went to try the ski today, still low on power, can't idle more than 15 seconds its bogging when I'm giving throttle.. I found that I have an exhaust leak somewhere. It's comming out from the rear of the engine, I removed the rubber hose between the water box and the grey pipe, it looks good. Where can the smoke comes from ? The grey metal pipe looks good too. I'm thinking the exhaust manifold maybe.. Is there other parts that can leak ?
