I have a 1996 Saltwater series 150 hp Yamaha. I took her out today and noticed that the engine was idling low and stalling out. I took her out an under WOT the rpm's would drop and she would lose power then the rpms's would rev again. On the way back in she would only hit 1100 rpm's (she would stall at any attempt to go higher). I barely limped back to my mooring. I just filled her up with gas the other day for the new season. I also started using ring free from a mechanics recomendation. I have been told that the first time you use ring free the plugs should be changed due to possible fouling from carbon buildup. Is this a possible answer? Bad Gas? Or am I screwed. I am a beginner with boat engines so go easy on me.
