Hello, My Yamaha needs a top end engine rebuild.
But I cannot locate a place that fixes PWC's or boats.
I live in Philladelphia, PA.
Can anyone let me know of a shop where they can fix my Yamaha in the Philly or New Jersey area?
Give me websites or phone numbers please.
I already tried Yahoo and Google to search for a PWC mechanic, but had no luck.

Hi Cayman, if that boat is anything like my older 92 wave 3 650cc the head is not that hard to get to. I took mine off just to remove the temp sensor (it fell apart trying to take it out). You just have to remove some of the exhaust cr@p that you will see connected to the head and have a torque wrench (and tightening sequence) and new gaskets to go back on. Once you get some confidence you will be surprised at the fun and satisfaction you will get knowing you fixed it yourself and put it back together right (buy or download a manual). I have seen alot of professional mechanics do a lot worse work than i have (as in i fixed the hack jobs they did). You have a lot of good people here that can talk you through this and thats what this forum is for. If its a no place to work on this thing situation i understand.

Actually someone please correct me if i am wrong. I mostly worked on 4 stroke automotive, but from what i saw for a top end on my 2 stroke wave 3 is more just like a chunk of iron or aluminum with spark plug and a sensor holes drilled in it. No valves or springs. The only thing i can see to "rebuild" is have the head surfaced and check the block mating surface. Do you pwc folks call it rebuilding the top end? Cayman what makes you think you need a top end rebuild?

Woops, ok I looked it up. I guess top end on a 2 stroke is bore and piston rings etc. My bad. Top end on 4 stroke heads.
