Hello everyone, I have a 1997 Game-fisher Outboard I found on craigslist for 350$. Where I'm located outboards are the furthest thing from cheap, so I hopped on this one. The guy said he ran it the summer before, I believed him, I shouldn't have, but I did. It was a stupid decision and I'm already well aware of it. It started, and ran pretty for a few seconds, than it died. The head gasket was bad, it was shooting water out of the cylinders, and when removing the heads I confirmed it was the head gasket. So I bought it for 200$. Upon removing the heads, I saw some slight cylinder scoring, its nothing I haven't seen before in all the two strokes I've owned, it seems minor, but since outboards are under constant load I figured I'd ask what you guys think. Since the rings are NLA for this motor, its basically either a pile of trash or a temporary motor. You guys think it will work out?
Also, I bought an 11$ headgasket and its got some damage too, would you run this? (attached image below)
EDIT: the scoring on the picture below, it makes it look worse than it really is. I can't feel the scoring with my fingernail, but its visually apparent for sure.
