Hello,

I have a 1995 OMC SUNBIRD 195, the original motor was a Johnson 130 but was stolen and all the wiring and cables cut. I purchased a 1997 150hp evinrude. I purchased a full wiring harness with the system check gauge. Does anyone have a diagram of what the actual wires in the harness do? There are three plugs on the engine side, and they all plug in, the only thing left open is a 2 pin square connector with a black and a tan/black wire, does that need to connect to something? On the helm side there are a lot more wires. There is a connector for the key, which I have, and there is a connector for the gauge, which I also have. But there are other connectors, wires, ring terminals on there, I need to figure out what they connect to? Also, where does the trim/tilt connect? I have the original OMC unit still in the boat, there are blue/white green/white red/white wires coming out of one loom in the unit, which match the triangle connector on the harness, is that the trim and tilt? There are also two wires coming out of the handle that are yellow/red.... what are those? neutral switch? any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! I can post pictures if that would help?

Sorry, my scan of the wiring diaghram was too big.

Tan/Black is the "Low Oil" in the reservoir warning signal. Two prong connector with ground. It should connect to the remote oil reservoir.

On the dashboard, there are ring teminals for a convention (non-system check) tachometer. They are black, purple and grey. They are unused if you have a system check tach.

Red/white is power; green/white is down and blue/white is up, all for the PTT. The tan/white is likely Trim gauge, which also uses a purple and black ring terminal.

There is an 8 wire connector for the System Check gauge and a two wire connector for the system check gauge horn.

Does that get it?
