Hey, First Post

EDIT: ugh, "restoration" is wrong in the title and I can't fix it..... good first impression

I own a 1997 Bayliner Capri 1954 Fish and Ski that I bought new. I had barely passed the 20 hour break-in time when my fondness for the boat started to fade. I bought the fish and ski package because I wanted to fish 'occasionally'. The 'fish' part started consuming me and I purchased some rather expensive rods, reels, tackle, etc. Spring of '99 I put my boat in the water and realized I had screwed up somewhere in the winterizing process. The carb was sluggish so I disassembled it and gave it a good cleaning. Unfortunately this was in my "half-***" days when I didn't always "do it right" so the carb started leaking. I pulled the boat home to work on the carb. During this down time, someone broke into mother and fathers place at Lake Wateree, SC and stole all of my tackle. I was pissed, the carb problem and the loss of my tackle hit me at a bad time. I moved the boat to my grandfathers land where it sat for 12 years. The boat was far enough away from my grandfathers house that I couldn't see it when I went to visit him. I basically blocked the boat from my memory.

I recently bought my son a fishing kayak and my fishing bug has come back with a vengeance. I brought the boat home and it looks terrible! I found a soft spot in the floor so I hit the internet to do a little research and I ran across FriscoJarretts videos, which led me here.

So it begins........

Welcome the iBoats...you will find this is the best place on the net to get a boat back in shape...

And Welcome to the dry dock..I think a mod will have to help with the title...These boards are bad for typos...some intentional though....you will see...

Thanks, I've been watching your rebuild. Mine is a I/O so i hope everything in the rear is going to be okay. I can already see that the rib? (sorry still learning) in front of the motor is rotten. I'm hoping everything in the bow and around the transom is going to be okay. I'm prepared to remove everything forward but I had not planned on removing the motor. I want to do it right or not do it at all. I'm still reading, reading, reading so I guess I will found out soon enough. Hopefully I will be able to cut the doghouse out and remove the rest of the floor this week.
