1997 Bombardier Celebrity 180BR 3.0ltr

I have a depth sounder that looks like it is Siliconed to the hull under the motor and it only seems to work half the time it cuts in and out, does anyone have any ideas whats wrong?

You will have fun reading it if its down there, I think you are looking at the transducer, I think a little more information would help.:/

Yeah that is the transducer! the display is mounted on the dashboard, it has no manufacter's names or markings on it, It has one button that sets the depth alarm if I push it when it cuts out sometimes it pops back on and sometimes not

Does anyone have any ideas?
