I checked the impeller on my 120HP OB. For those not used to re-installing the LU, it can be a pain.
1st lesson learned: Make sure you get the upper shift shaft connected to the lower. I started with the LU in neutral. Any gear will do as long as you know which .For me the easiest way is to have the LU held loosely with a ratchet strap. Start by installing the shift collar on the UPPER shaft. Ratchet up the LU unit until you see the upper shaft with collar about to touch the lower shaft. With a thin screwdriver jiggle the collar down onto the lower shaft. This may take some MINOR jiggling of the upper shaft linkage to align correctly. Once the collar drops onto the lower shaft ratchet up the LU. If it hangs jiggle the prop get the drive shaft to align properly. You'll need it in gear to do this. Ratchet up the rest of the way.

2nd lesson learned. Never pry the bearing carrier loose form the housing. Even if it is not fully secured prying on the those readily available bolt ears can break or crack them. How would I know this? My new replacement is on order for ~$150. That's not a horrid;e price as it comes with new seals and bearings.

I hope this helps somebody,
