I have two questions.<br />1. tell me why the sterter is not always engaging the flywheel and what I need to do to fix this problem. 2 Is there a way to install a tach on the motor?^
Well I have an answer for your starter. The bendex or spine is binding on the starter shaft when it comes back down afetr starting. I used to have to get a screw driver out all the time and pry it up to get it to engage. A real pain in the ass. So finally I took off the starter disasembeled the bendex and groud down the area under the bendex untill it was touching the spines this fixed the problem and has never come back. Saved me from buying a new starter.
