1997 force 75hp cutting out

I have a 1997 force it has made by merc on it however at full speed it seems to bog down if you take it back a little it will take back off i use to get around 42 mph and now lucky to get 37 mph out of it can someone please help I have had my carbs rebuilt still same problem thanks

Have you rebuilt the fuel pump? My '97 75hp wouldn't idle properly and would cut out some at WOT. I rebuilt the fuel pump and it helped tremendously. You probably want to look for other fuel line restrictions.

thanks for your help I will rebuild the fuel pump I was looking at different kind's of motor and they was talking about the fuel lines could cause issues also thanks for the support

any hints on rebuilding the fuel pump? I have not rebuilt one before!

This link will show you an exploded view of the fuel pump. What you want is Mercury part #21-857005A1 which I purchased from my local Mercury dealer for around $20. I believe a diagram and instructions came with the kit. It took me about 30 minutes to do the rebuild since I was being careful to note how everything was to go back together. I could probably do it now in 10-15 minutes. I believe there is one gasket that come with that kit that you do not use. You'll know the one since you won't find one of them on your fuel pump.
