1997 Johsnon 40hp Power trim and tilt unit is toast

According to my shop the internals on my trim unit are bad making my trim unit unrepairable I have tried to locate a used unit online but to no success. Does anyone have any other ideas that can be more affordable a new trim unit is 1200 I am not looking to spend that on a motor of this age.

have you checked with the salvage yards listed in the top secret file at the top of this forum?

Yes im waiting to hear back from them. Didn't know if there was another route I could take.
