Hi all, I'm in the process of re securing my pedastal seats. I did the passenger a few weeks ago. I used LARGE Brass, inside machine outside lag, thread inserts, glued to the decking with waterproof glue and 1/2 inch stainless bolts to secure it. now its time for the drivers side. My question is...as I drilled up the original holes (Lag Screws) when i went thru the decking, it looked like aluminum underneath. It was in an area I assumed was a crossmember. I'm no where near the fuel tank but before I do the other side I wanted to know if anyone knows how these decks are assembled. I know the stringers starting that year or before were not wood but dont see anywhere they speak of aluminum being used anywhere in the construction?
