I got a great deal on the motor and need to know how to attach the wires from the tiller handle back to the throttle/shift cable actuator. Tiller cables had been disconnected by previous owner as it was set up remotely. Any help or diagrams would be appreciated.

Are the cables disconnected at both ends (tiller and throttle/shift pulleys)?

Yes it seems that way. There are to silver wires that move in and out when you twist the tiller handle.

So the two cables (silver wires) are connected to the tiller and are not connected at the throttle/shift pulleys (at the engine)?

Are the cables attached to the side of the engine at the cable adjusters? It should look like an upper cable and a lower cable.

You may need more than just the tiller. The remote and tiller set-up are different.

It has everything that it needs for tiller contol. The wires are attached to side of engine but they are not hooked up the the actuator.

Is the label still on the tiller for F/R? If it is it will be easy to set-up just remember that each cable pulls for it's respective gear.

No Title

As the photos show (first time posting pix) in Neutral, the top cable goes OVER the inner pulley and the barrel (at the end of the cable) is installed into the hole of the pulley at the "six o'clock" position.

The bottom cable goes UNDER the outer pulley and the barrel in installed into the hole of the pulley at the "twelve o'clock" position.

Yo may have to manually shift the gearcase into the Forward, Reverse and Neutral positions as well as twisting the tiller in order to have enough of the cable to reach the holes in the respective pulleys.
