i just bought this boat, and the first thing i noticed is it was not pumping water. i had a new water pump kit installed and seemed to be fine. slower water pumping at idle and better stream under higher rpm's. on my second day out i noticed i had a very light trickle at idle, and the same small dripping at cruising speed. the motor did not seem to be getting hot, but i am not getting water flow light i should be. any help? thanks

Sounds like you need to redo the impeller, you should be getting a better flow. Do you have a water pressure guage?

What condition was the old impeller in? If it had broken up you could have bits lodged in the water tube or water ways.

What James said is very possible and you may need to reverse flush the motor

i have no water pressure gauge, and i am waiting for a reply from the guy that replaced the impeller to see what the condition was. this boat and motor sat for two years so thats another reason i just had it done. the technician also flushed things and blew compressed air through the lines as well. like i mentioned it was perfectly fine right after the repair, but after running the boat once it has not had the same pressure at all. thanks again

Compressed air will do very little. Water thru a gun from the faucet will do a better job.
