I just recently found out and noticed that my prop clicks when spun by hand. After doing some research and asking more knowledgeable sources I have come to the conclusion that the shift cable needs adjustment. I looked in my manual for some instructions about how to go about this, but can't find anything that clear.

Is this a simple thing to do on your own or would one recommend someone else do it. I'm fairly certain it would require the removal of my controls. Anyone have any directions or other help? As the title mentions.. the motor is 1997 Mercury 115HP. Thanks! :)

if mechanically inclined, it is not hard, just a little frustrating. disconnect cable at engine, then place controls and engine in neutral, idle position. now adjust the trunion nuts so that the will reconnect, without moving the motor linkage.

I'm usually pretty good with my hands so I think I could work it out. I'll take a look at it this weekend. That doesn't sound too hard tho. Thanks!
