1997 Sea Ray 210 Signature - Floor and Seat Restoration

Hello all,
I am new to this forum and would like to see if anyone tech tips you can share in restoring the floor, carpet and seats/upholstery in a 1997 Sea Ray 210 Signature? Any input or recommendation is appreciated!

First thing to determine is how far into it will you have to go. That is, check for rot in floor (spongy?), transom and stringers (test drill looking for soft wood and/or wet??) around the engine bay. If you have done that and found rot, you need to be prepared to go really deep into replacing possibly the floor, stringers, and/or transom throughout the boat... If you pull the engine then its a good idea to pull the outdrive and see how the transom, mounting bolts and mounting holes look. I am new to do this myself but well into full resto on my boat.

Thanks for the reply! ...I am not planning to go too deep into restoration especially if it requires stringers and/or transom update. To the best my ability having some engineering experience, the transom seems very solid so that is good. Had the outdrive pulled to replace the gimbal bearings. All seemed very solid. The stringers I am concerned with. It seems the floor has sunk down to about 3/8" roughly but it doesn't seem that the area is spongy buy in fairness i think drilling a small hole for inspections or sample, would be a good way to determine or maybe pulling carpet with expectation of replacing it.

The stringers are the backbone of any boat. The structural integrity of the hull depends on their stability. Waves and wakes place tremendous stress on the hull and weak stringers can lead to catastrophic failure. I’d recommend you do a thorough inspection and either scrap the boat or do the required repairs
