Just got the boat back, had all bellows replaced, and impellar changed which included new gear fluid, Took it for a test drive and when I put the drive in the trailer position and parked it it formed a puddle of green gear fluid(Im presuming its gear fluid)I traced the leak to a small 1/4" hole towards the back of the gear case closest to the transom, the 2 holes are located directly behind the 4 bolts that attach the lower gear housing.....Boat never leaked before I had the service work done....I have the boat back at the mechanic as we speak, but I want as many opinions about this as possible before I go back to the service shop......Obviously this is something that they did, but what could it have been....
Also we took it for a test drive, seemed to run fine, but in my thinking that if there is s leak that means water could have gotten in the gear case....Should this fluid be changed even if it looked a normal color?
Sorry for the long post, but Im just trying to cover all my bases before I go back to the dealer,I want the cards to be in my hand not theirs........Thanks in advance, any other info that I may have missed and would pertain to this feel free to add you comments.

You have a remote oil tank and when this drive is reinstalled it is inevitable that some oil will spill down into the bowels of that gearcase.Changing the impeller is the same thing. When you lift the upper away from the lower you will have alot of spillage that is impossible to clean up entirely.Only you can decide if this thing is leaking or not.

Bondo got it, they said one seal was installed improperly, they had to drop the lower gear case, and reinstall. The dealer said he used new gear lube, but the boat was done before I got there, so really no way to tell if its new fluid or not.
Calling for crappy weather this whole weekend so wont be able to water test until next week.
Thanks again.
