Re: 1997 Valiant VIP

I just bought a 1997 vip valiant this past november and here is my two cents.

I paid $6,000 for the boat that was in PRESTINE condition. Not a thing in the world wrong with this boat, interior was immaculate. It's got a 5.7 V8 that runs strong and has never given me a lick of trouble. Keep in mind i bought it in november which is going right into the off season so i'm sure i got a little better deal because of that.

In my personal opinion, $8,600 would be too steep for me on that boat. Hope that helps

Depends on where you are. If you are up north in Canada, that price sounds reasonable for a 1997, even a little on the low side IF it's in great condition and runs well. If you are in the southern US where there's too many boats and not enough people to want them, that's way WAY too high.

To put it in perspective, I'm asking $8800 for mine on Kijiji in Alberta right now - and it's a 1988. I already have a semi-serious offer of close to that, I'm just waiting to hear when he can come and have a look.

Thanks for the replies...I am in Northern Illinois (not quite Canada)....I really don't know anything about boats and just wondered if that price was in the ballpark at all....Haven't looked at it yet and not sure of any details like if the trailer is included, options, etc.
