so i had water in my gas tank. I drained it completely and including hose from tank to engine. I had been doing other work on engine and been running the engine on a separate tank, running fine. I get all water out of tank and fill her up again and connect the hose. i was thinking i should have poured gas down the hose to prime it but i didn't.

I start the engine it runs for a while (10-13minutes) at 2k rpms and i assume everything is a-ok. Then it just quits. I try starting it again and nothing but oil sludge flies out fo the prop exhaustion and keeps on back firing. now it won't turn over at all.

What the heck happened??? did it run out of gas due to it couldn't suck it up from tank (prolly 3ft from tank to hose connection)? Gas was still in engine from previous tank. What should be my next steps as i am only below average at engines at best and i have cost myself more $$ at the marina once i got done screwing around.

Could i have had water still in tank even though i thought i got it all??
